11:01 pm - Check Out This Site!

Okay, I must confess that I'm a huge fan of How I Met Your Mother so while I was surfing the net - wow, have you ever imagined someone surfing on a net? Weird concept - I came across the CBS official site and guess what I found?
Barney's Blog! Yep, the one that he's always writing on the show. It's so hilarious!
You can go check it out here.

I've recently come to realize that even though this show is recent, it already has lots of quotes that are going to forever stay in our minds. So for that, thank you Barney Stinson, for making my life much more fun.

P.S. - Just wanted to leave my sentiment to Michael Jackson, who died yesterday. Even though I wasn't a big fan, I have to admit the man was a great musician.

10:45 pm - Favourite Shows
Well, since you lot doesn't exactly know me, I must inform you that I am completely addicted to screens, either it's the one you have at home - commonly known as the TV - the big screen or the one you're staring at right now. I blame it on the world; I mean anywhere you go - unless it's a third world country - you are surrounded by these cute little devices, created to entertain you. I just don't want to disappoint the creators of these things, someone has got to use them, right? Right.

Anyways, back to the topic at hands, the other day I was talking to a very good friend of mine and we were discussing one of the scenes from The Office, that great GREAT show, and it got me thinking...what other GREAT shows had I seen recently - or not so recently?
So, I came to the conclusion that there are four shows you must see before you die, and I mean you MUST SEE.

'Allo 'Allo

This one's an oldie, it's dated back to 1982, but it's pure genius.
Seriously, who doesn't love René and his wife Edith? God, I just love it when René is caught by Edith with his waitresses and he comes up with the most ridiculous excuses.

For those of you who haven't seen it (infidels), the story takes place in France during the World War II and it centers on the owner of a small café, René (Gordon Kaye) who's caught up in the middle of the most extraordinary situations: he's trying to please his wife Edith (Carmen Silvera), the French Resistance, th German officials, the Gestapo and two English airmen, among others. It's a very humourus show and I seriously recommend it.

Everlasting Quotes:
You stupid woman! - René (talking to his wife when caught red handed with one of the waitresses)
Good moaning! - Officer Crabtree
Listen very carefully, I shall say this only once. - Michelle
It is I, Leclerc. - Leclerc

Fawlty Towers

Again an oldie (1975), but tottaly worthy of watching. It's the story of Basil Fawlty, played by the awesome John Cleese, and his wife Sybil, owners of a hotel who find themselves incapable of managing said hotel without some hilarious situations.

I think what makes this show so great are the dialogues and of course the acting - but then again I'm a serious John Cleese fan, and love his way of acting.

One of my favourite characters is Manuel, the Spanish waiter who doesn't understand a word of English, and so when Basil orders him to do something or the other, he always ends up screwing it up.

Everlasting Quotes:
I'll put an ad in the papers: "Wanted, kind home for enormous savage rodent. Answers to the name of Sybil" - Basil
Que? - Manuel
Ah, no señor. No "on those trays". (counting the trays) Uno, dos, tres.  - Manuel
A satisfied costumer. We should have him stuffed. - Basil
Coming my little piranha fish. - Basil

The Office

Who doesn't love this show? I like both the UK version and the US version, though I must say I have a soft spot for Jim and Dwight of the US version. What can I say, I just find them very entertaining.

This must be one of the most stupid series I've ever seen, I mean this show revolves around nothing. It's the daily life of a very boring office with very bored employees (with the exception of Dwight, of course, he's the most dedicated in there) who do stupid hilarious stuff to get pass the time.

You have to love the pranks Jim/Tim plays on Dwight/Gareth, they are brilliant! I think it goes without saying that you have got to see this!

Everlasting Quotes:
(dialogue between Tim and Gareth)
Tim - So you would take a man from behind?
Gareth - Yeah.
Tim - Lovely.

That's what she said! - Michael
Dammit, he put my stapler in Jell-O again! - Dwight
Happy birthday, Jesus. Sorry your party is so lame! - Michael
Sometimes I send Dwight faxes from himself in the future. - Jim
Dwight thinks today's Friday, so that's what I'll be doing this afternoon. - Jim

How I Met Your Mother

I LOVE THIS SHOW. Absolutely, seriously and everything ending in "-ly" love it! It is one of the funniest shows  I have ever seen. Come on, the story is original, the dialogues are witty and the actors are hilarious.
I adore Barney, in my opinion he's the money maker of that show.

The story, as you lot know is told backwards, meaning, Ted is telling his kids how he met their mother.

It interested me right from episode one, and it's still one of my favourite series. I don't think there's much to say about it because it can be described in two words: master piece. It is a master piece, a model for all the other shows out there!

WATCH IT! Believe me, you will laugh like hell.

Everlasting Quotes:
It's going to be legend...wait for it...dary! - Barney
Suit up! - Barney
Hey nice shirt ,Ted. Is it yesterday already? - Lily
I'm not a gay pirate! I have sex with my parrot all the time. Okay, that came out wrong. - Marshall
Haaave you met Ted? - Barney
What's that left hand? Right hand sucks? Word. - Barney
I know when you don't phone-five, Ted. - Barney

And that's that kiddies. My recommendations for today, make sure to watch these shows, you will not be disappointed!

Not really sure what I'm suppose to say here, so I think I'll just say whatever's going on my mind at the moment...well, I will mostly use LJ to say random useless stuff or to promote something I really like (movies, books, etc)

Right now I don't really have much time to write, but I promise tomorrow I'll start writing something.
